March on Christian Solider

A Christian Perspective on the Syria Situation

We are just days away from watching the United States Congress take a vote on whether or not to take military action in Syria. Our president is adamant that this is the best decision, but the vast majority of Americans vehemently disagree. I have spent a lot of time studying the situation in Syria and I thought I would share my thoughts on it from a Christian perspective.

First of all, let’s look at what’s happening in Syria right now. The Assad regime is undeniably cruel and no one doubts that this leader is not good for either Syria as a nation or for relations in the Middle East. However, Al Qaeda is heading the rebel uprising in Syria. These are the same Islamic extremists that are executing Christians by the thousands. They are brutally beating people including women and children. They are torching churches throughout the Middle East and proudly working towards an Ethnic cleansing to eliminate all Jews and Christians.

A few weeks ago, a chemical attack in Syria left thousands dead, including a lot of children. According to our president, this attack was carried out by the Assad regime. However, much of the world says the rebels were responsible. Now our president wants us to take action against Assad by basically pairing up with the Al Qaeda rebel forces. Since when does America fight on the side of Islamic extremists? Since when do you help the people that are burning churches and publicly executing Christians in brutal ways?

As a Christian, I call for the United States to stand down. I fear that we are facing a red line of a whole different kind right now… the red light of God’s judgment.

What To Do When You Are Being Persecuted

First of all you need to count it a blessing if you are being persecuted for being a Christian. In the world in which we live, there are very few things we can look up to and believe in besides God almighty. In this blog post we will discuss what you can do when you are suffering from persecution.

Be sure to give thanks to God for your persecution and be willing to show others that you are not going to be defeated by this persecution. You need to be able to stand strong in your faith and not be swayed by others trying to bully you out of it. By giving thanks to God for your persecution you are not only showing those around you that you will not be swayed but you are also showing that God is stronger than anything they can throw your way. You may even find that some people will want to know more about your God as a result of your steadfastness.

No matter what type of persecution you are under, always remember to stand strong in your beliefs. Even if you continue to be persecuted and life becomes totally unbearable you need to remember that this is not your home and that God has a place for you in Heaven that He will reward you with one day so rejoice!

Remember that God will deliver you from all persecution and that you will not have to suffer forever. God will never leave you or forsake you so you do not have to be afraid when the persecution gets hard. You can do all things with Christ and He will give you the power to do it!

Persecution Of Christian Teens In America And Around The World

There is persecution of Christians all over the world, but what gets under my skin the most is when Christian teens are persecuted. It is hard enough to be a teenager in this world in which we live, but being a Christian teen is becoming even more difficult and it simply isn’t right. In this blog post we will look at a few examples of persecution of Christian teens in America and around the world.

One example of this Christian persecution happened in a town in Texas. A group of middle school cheerleaders made a few banners that had bible verses on them. They held these signs up at a pep rally the school had and it didn’t take long before the school officials were up in arms about it and the actions of these girls actually became a court case. These girls didn’t even use any of the schools money to make the banners because they knew that would cause a problem. They were very careful to pay for whatever materials they used out of their own pockets so as to not ruffle any feathers. This wasn’t enough however as the case is still being talked about to this day.

A high school in West Virginia has banned prayer before football games. Although prayer before these games has been a tradition for several decades, it has not become illegal and will no longer be a part of the Friday night scene at the high school.

It is a sad fact that persecution happens everywhere but keeping our own teenagers from praising God is just downright wrong and something needs to be done about it!

Persecution Has Caused Teens To Leave Church

It seems as if the American church is dying. If you go into churches today, you will likely see more grey heads than you will a full and thriving youth group. What is the reason for all of this you may ask? It has a lot to do with persecution. A study that was done by the Liberty Institute and Family Research Council has concluded that the reason we are seeing a decline in church youth groups today is directly related to the persecution and hostility today’s youth are facing in the world.

It is noted that up to 80% of typical church youth members leave the church once they become college age and never return. The future of church is directly affected by this and is in danger of dying out as a result. Christian youth today are not being raised by their family as much as they are being raised by media. We all know that media is typically non Christian and therefore this is not good that our kids are being sucked in by it. It is very hard for Christian parents these days to compete with the American culture that is non-Christian and biased on so many topics.

Even Christian kids these days are starting to wonder if people are really born gay. It’s really sad to see this happening before our eyes and to think there is nothing we can do about it. There is something we can do as Christian families however. We can begin to once again eat dinner together around the kitchen table. I know this sounds very small but it is actually a very smart way of turning around the situation at hand. Try it tonight and let’s make a difference one family at a time!

Christians Rights Are Being Taken Away One Step At A Time

Think about this, how long ago was it that Christians could publically profess God in school. How many years ago was it that prayer was taken out of schools? How long do you think it will be before our freedom of speech as American Christians will stay intact? These may sound like hard questions to answer but if you look back a few years at all that has already been taken away from us, then you will know that it won’t be long before we won’t be able to legally attend worship services in our own country.

The Ten Commandments have been taken out of every court room in America and even nativity scenes are being targeted on folk’s private properties. Is this America? I am not so sure anymore.

Our nation was founded on Christian principles but those are slowly being taken away as each decade passes. Even faster over the last decade than ever before! We can look to our Atheist brothers and sisters for advice on what to do about all of this. Yes this is true! We as Christians can learn a lot from Atheists. They actually have filed lawsuits based on their freedom of speech and have won these law suits! If they can do this we can to!! It is time for Christians around the world to stand up for what we believe in and to stop being silent!

The best way to show those who are against Christians and who are set on continuing to persecute us that we are a people of faith and that we are a loving people is for us to stand up for our beliefs and love them while doing so. Let’s take the world back for Jesus one step at a time!

New Worrisome Asylum Law

A few months back a German family came to the United States seeking Asylum from the German law that they cannot home school their children. The family came from Germany to the United States because they knew that they could apply for asylum and may be able to continue to home school their children as a result.

The thing that is worrisome about this is that once they got to the US they were originally granted the Asylum application, but after some time the Board of Immigration Appeals decided to deny this German families Asylum application. The court stated that because home schooling is not allowed in Germany that the German family was not being persecuted and should therefore not have any need for Asylum.

The court stated that because the German government doesn’t allow homeschooling they were simply abiding by their own rules when enforcing heavy fines on this family.

This is all very worrisome to me because as a homeschooling mother I do not want to see anything like this happen in America. You never know where things may lead but for now it is quite legal to home school in America and is actually something that a lot of Americas take part in. I don’t foresee this ever happening in the land of the free and the home of the brave but I also haven’t foreseen a lot of the persecution that goes on in our great nation either.

It is my hope that this German family will continue to home school their children regardless of the law and that God protects them while doing so. God speed to them and blessings on them for what they are trying to accomplish!
